Thank you for your interest in Steven Rapp Custom Knives!  I started making knives in the Autumn of 1980 with the intention of only making one or two for Christmas gifts.  Soon, I found that I couldn't stop after making one or two knives, or even ten knives - I was HOOKED on making knives!
As a child and a young adult, I was always involved in music, art, and building things.  At the age of 15, I built my first car from the ground up.  All throughout school I played the French Horn in everything from orchestras to Jazz bands, and then professionally for a short time.  Now, creating unique, one-of-a-kind knives has been the best way for me to express my passion for art.  Creating art is so important to me.  Many hours of meticulous workmanship go into each and every one of my hand-made knives.  I take tremendous pride in my craft and constantly strive to to expand my designs and abilities to make a knife.  I love making new designs, especially if there is some challenge to making the knife - some new element I haven't yet done.
So the question is: Why consider purchasing, or ordering, a STEVEN RAPP CUSTOM MADE KNIFE? I use the highest quality materials, the finest steel from the best steel makers, and the finest engravers to compliment my beautiful knives.  In the last number of years, I have been making the most complex gold quartz knives in the industry.  Other knife makers will use only a few pieces of gold quartz, but I use many pieces of gold quartz in some unique mosaic designs.  I also make, hands-down, the finest metal sheaths in the knife-making industry.
In Knives '98, I received The Wooden Sword Award from Ken Warner.  As he explained to me the reason that I received the award was because of all of the different styles of knives that I make, from antique Bowies and daggers to fantasy knives.

The knives pictured in these pages of this website are a small sample of the knives I have made over the last 35+ years, as well as a sample of the types of knives that I can make.  And, of course, any knife in this website can be customized in any way that you, The Collector, may have in mind.
I have been a member of The Knifemaker's Guild and am a member of the prestigious Art Knife Invitational show.  I am one of the Original Utah Knife makers along with such great names as Buster Warenski, Gil Hibben, Steve Johnson, Curt Erickson, and the amazing engraver/knife maker Julie Warenski-Erickson.

Many thanks to you looking at this website, and I look forward to making something beautiful for your existing collection.

                Warmest thanks,
